ZAINAB A. ALWAZZAN

BSc., PGD, MSc., PhD

Everyone has a story, and my story started when I was a little girl. I used to spend hours observing moving creatures at my home's garden, seashores, or anywhere else. Everything in nature attracts my interest, especially animals. So, using a primitive microscope, prepared slides, and other simple experimental tools -thanks to Toys “R” Us,- I started to build my own lab when I was 8 years old. This passion grows as I continued my journey by majoring in Zoology and minoring in Marine Sciences followed by a few years as a postgraduate. My experience in the Faculty of Sciences at Kuwait University has enriched my knowledge, improved my skills, and developed my ideas towards life around us. This was followed by earning my MSc and Ph.D. in Marine Biology at the School of Ocean Sciences, Bangor University. During those years I had the privilege of learning, training, and working with the world's leading scientists. This experience has improved my research skills, enhanced my knowledge, and shifted my ideas in using and applying sciences and take it to the next level. Finally, the more I learn, the more I find myself asking even more questions and I realized that learning is a continuous growing process for scientists and research is a scientific tool and a wonderful, beautiful journey to live and enjoy.
